Founded in 2006 by three postgraduate students at the Royal Academy of Music, the Pirani Trio was formed with the intention of exploring the Horn Trio genre. The Trio aims not only to consolidate the standard Horn Trio repertoire but also to encourage new compositions and to discover less well-known Trios which have been rarely performed. They have given numerous recitals including in London, Cambridge, Aylesbury and Bristol, and in 2007 were invited to perform the Berkeley Horn Trio for the British Horn Society's Dennis Brain Memorial Concert. They are also the musicians in residence at the Festival des Arts de Parisot in France.
